  1. On Christmas Day, Israel killed ten Palestinians in Gaza – five of them were journalists in a van marked ‘Press’. Another war crime. Also on Christmas Day, a newborn baby girl froze to death in a tent camp in the Muwasi area outside the southern town of Khan Younis. “She was like wood” the medics said. The baby girl was named Sila.

Twenty people were wounded in another Israeli airstrike on Christmas Day in Gaza City’s Zeitoun area. Many are still trapped under the rubble, so there may be more wounded or dead yet from that attack.

Russia targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure on the same day, and David Lammy tweeted his outrage, saying it was “inhumane” of Putin to target energy infrastructure. He did not mention the civilians murdered by Israel on the same day. He had no outrage for them, despite actively supporting Israel with targeting information and weapons to do the job. Nor did he mention the fact that Israel shut off energy and fuel to Gaza over 15 months ago. He expressed no outrage about that either.

Now that Israel’s genocide is in full swing, the media are mostly ignoring it. They cannot claim it’s about the hostages, as Israel have killed more than they have saved with their airstrikes. They can’t claim it’s about self defence, because no one is attacking them. Human rights groups now estimate that at least 10% of the population of Gaza have now been wiped out by Israel – that is directly. There will be countless more who have died indirectly through starvation, lack of medical care for their wounds, preventable illness and freezing to death in the winter. That means Israel have directly killed over 230,000 civilians. It’s worth remembering the highest estimate for the amount of Hamas members in Gaza is 40,000. Israel’s defence minister has already declared that Israel has “defeated Hamas” – so why are they still bombing? Instead of asking this question (of Israel or the UK/US) the news media are ignoring most atrocities committed by Israel, because they cannot defend it. They report on some of the slaughter but in a matter of fact way you see in this Sky article. There is no longer any scrutiny of why this is happening or what is being done to stop this genocide. None.

The UK are party to this genocide. Let’s not forget that we are culpable under international law now. Our prime minister and foreign secretary should both have international arrest warrants out on them now. It’s unclear why they do not.

  2. Very sorry to hear about this accident😥🤦‍♂️. It’s always concerning when accidents like this occur, especially when pedestrians are involved. It’s important for drivers to always be cautious and follow traffic rules to prevent such incidents from happening. I hope that the injured pedestrians recover quickly and that the authorities are able to determine the cause of the accident. It’s a reminder to always stay alert and be mindful of safety when on the road, whether you’re a driver or a pedestrian.

  3. OMG, that’s terrible! I just heard about it from my friend who works near there. I actually take cabs all the time around midtown, and it’s scary to think this could happen to anyone. Really hoping that little boy and the others pull through. 🙏
